Knock this one off the bucket list - Interview Canadian reggae legends Messenjah

0:59 - Bob Marley “War”

4:14 -Meet Carl Harvey, guitarist for Toots & The Maytals

8:29 - Why Toots translates even today

12:13 - Carl on tour with Toots 40 years

13:13 - Buju Banton “Yardie”

16:31 - Messenjah’s longevity - Crack of Dawn - Jackie Mitto mentoring the brothers

22:13 - First Black band signed to a record label inna Canada – Crack of Dawn - Columbia Records

23:43 - Dedication, dedication, dedication yet one must first have talent first and foremost

33:42 - Discipline of the travelling musician on tour ~ being professional about your task and your job

34:57 - Messenjah

36:26 -Why the reggae story is lost in Canada is because we depended on a colonial, racist, white culture to document black music (my words).

37:56 - Not even Messenjah with all of their accomplishments can get grants out of white Canada (my words again)

40:26 - Toots & The Maytals “Pressure Drop”

45:11 - Our youthful perception of RasTafari as youths growing up in Jamaica ~ DREAD!

45:56 - our thoughts on Reggae Lane, the complete disappointment many in the reggae community feel on various levels.  People who don’t agree with each other about the lane’s placement, still share the same disappointment that the lane isn’t used  to properly showcase and elevate a very respectable reggae community in Canada

My opinion is that some arts councils some place spends millions on the ballet yet Reggae Lane “has no budget” as I was directly told by a government official

Why no budget?

Ok then, step aside and allow those who how to promote reggae do their job and invest in Reggae Lane as a Toronto tourism destination, which it already is

Reggae Lane is a reflection on everyone and what we have today could easily be amplified and PAY the talent that currently resides here to maximize its fiscal potential

Why isn’t that happening?

1:00:24 - Discipline and dedication a common theme to achievement

1:06:24 - Combat is spiritual

1:07:39 - The synergy and spirituality of martial arts and music

1:09:24 - “We’ve Had it” ~ Rupert Harvey

1:14:23 - Acoustic Performance

1:18:23 - Acoustic live performance ~ Satta Massagana - a guitar performance to pass on to people

1:30:22 - Purchase Messenjah t-shirts

1:32:07 - RADA - “Show me how you treat your woman and I will show you the condition of your race” – Dr. Yoseph Ben Jochannan ‘ Dr. Ben

1:35:37 - Acoustic tribute “Old Friends” to the old days when we all did a grow.  Listen to the many names that Ojiji calls out - touching tribute

1:42:51 -Toots & The Maytals “54_46”

1:48:21 -Speaking about “Feel Reggae Seminars” with Carl Harvey where we learn from musicians like him who has played on stage with, Toots, Dennis< Gregory, Sly & Robbie and the list is endless

Stay tuned for information

The Juggernaut of Racism moves on

9/25/2017

There is no reprieve from this racist path that we all currently face.  It is a juggernaut way out of control

They believe that the greatest cure for racism is acceptance

The sooner we are all comfortably aware that it is a necessary cog in the colonial ideal, the better we can all just get along

The colonial ideal needs bottom feeders

The visible African has been chosen for the role

There have been generations and centuries of genocide to the African on several shores yet some in this very time of 2017 actually ask if racism still exists

They name it racism and need its structure to elevate their psychological well being.  There is a race to prove and to maintain superiority.  There seems to be a need to know that the African race is inferior to them and for both races to accept the information

The sooner this is done the thought is that relationships will improve

There will never be a plan to improve “race relations” on this planet

Illegal contraception of MILLIONS of black women in third world countries, to bullwhipping, to lynching, to the slavery genocide, to police murders to open, daily prejudice to black skin, tells one of a centuries long need to keep things the way they need it to be

African people at the bottom

That is what is expected of black people on pretty much every place in the world; even in the places like the Caribbean or Africa, black people with lighter skin are more valuable than those with darker skin.  A caste system is expected and understood by all.  Even subliminally

Colin Kaepernick will never again work in the NFL

I’m sure he did not think that his stance would find him in this current position in life

Now that he has been thrust here, I wonder if he has a plan going forward or is he just going with the flow of this river and see where it drops him?

I’m pretty sure that he has no clue what to do next.  He is probably trying to not throw any more gasoline on to the fire as his country has zero interest in stopping police brutality to black citizens

The scapegoat is to make it about “the niggers having the audacity to desecrate Liberty in the American way” and to NEVER address police murders of innocent, unarmed black citizens

With the ability to read and write, we are able to clearly articulate exactly what we see and experience daily hence Africans were banned from reading all over the colonial empire for centuries.  I don’t blame “them”

“Keep the African dumb”

Everywhere

In Europe, black superstar football players like Samuel E’to, Thierry Henry and others can tell you of stories of home fans throwing bananas on the field and making monkey sounds at them during warm up

Their own fans

Just think of what the opposing fans were / are like

Ghandi believed in the caste system.  One of the world’s supposedly greatest humanitarians and champion of peace, believed that black people were inferior and rightly so because it was God’s will or some dumb shit

He fought hard for his people and became a hero yet believed black people to be inferior to the Indian

This common thread of “black people being inferior” is in every culture on the planet

It has become an expected response by all concerned

In almost every head to head sporting endeavor the African has proven second to none.  In intellectual or musical endeavor it would be next to impossible to not recognize the African influence in thought and music

Having proven superiority in athletic, intellectual and artistic creativity when or where is the African inferior?

The only thing that the African is inferior in, is the need to take over the world

We don’t wish to own anyone or anything

Is it fear?

What is the fear?

Why fear a people who don’t want to take over anything?

A people who have no interest in any kind of “master race” or world domination

A people who have no history in colonizing other cultures and imposing their beliefs

Racism is a master tool for distraction and creating chaos

The chaos leads to lack of thought or empathy

It distracts from the actual path of the colonial juggernaut

No one has any say in the path of this organized chaos

Look at racism used to distract the fact that The Orange Orangutan and his baboon force are trying to attack North Korea while attack the niggers in the NFL and the NBA

This high profile twitter fight clouds the vision of America gearing up for another war where African soldiers, whose own country does not like them, will be going to serve and defend

White Amerikkka and Kkkanada condones racism

It is a part of their need to feel superior

Even after all that they have done, killing Africans in the millions and continuing to degrade black people globally and they still live with this fear that they have created by themselves...for themselves

This is the Amerikkkan National Anthem

Oh, say! can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming;
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there:
Oh, say! does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In fully glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?

Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution!

No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust":
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Black people are finally waking up and noticing “the corporation’s” need for us to accept 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th class citizenship

Freely accept being inferior

Same laws here in Kkkanada

Look at what the Canadian National Hockey Team and the Montreal Canadien did to P.K. Subban.  Look at how they have treated PK over the years

EVERYONE is aware that it was a racist move

Any black players playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs yet?

You won’t see it in your lifetime
Who cares

Some Africans are waking up.  There are those who feel the need to defend Massa George aka King George aka all white ceo’s of any company.  They need to explain to the rest of us negroes how we need to behave and how best to toe the line or stay behind

Jerry Rice, Deion Sanders, Ray Lewis, Charles Barkley ad most anyone of them in the broadcast booths on any network, are some of the house niggas being used to explain why we need to remain “good niggas”

We do not accept your “superiority”

It does not exist

You are weak and cowardly

That is clear

The system of making some Africans rich so that they can defend the status quo doesn’t always work when the white elite don’t accept the rich niggas either

They are deliberately killing the NFL but they will NOT stop police brutality

They will make it about their anthem and their flag and most white people will be cool with how this goes

Any bets on the date that The UN, The US and Canada will attack North Korea?

Reggae Love

Because we can’t always consciously connect the dots to situations in life we argue about whether coincidence is actually truth or a myth

We all hear “there are no coincidences”

What does that actually mean?

Logically one must believe then all things are meant to be

So why pray about the inevitable?

Why pray at all?

What is the power of prayer?

We are all spiritually connected.  That is something we all feel yet we are unable to explain.  There is a spiritual realm where most think those who walk there are either crazy or afraid of facing the reality that “there is no God”

Who cares how one reaches spiritual strength and love as long as that is the path that they seek.  One where the ultimate goal is true love

Now don’t go asking me to define “love”

Defining a spiritual entity is a useless thing but if one ovastands love one lives it.  One shares that loving energy to others

Love isn’t explained, it is lived

By living it we actually also teach it, not by words but by actions

Reggae music enhances this livity for I self as well as millions of others around the globe.  This reggae frequency is conduit of spiritual love

This path was created through Africa, the degradation of slavery, the right for joyous celebration to alleviate great pain, truth, equal rights and justice, respect, honor and love, always seeking a path to the truth

Reggae music has a feel, vibe and energy that so many relate to even from totally separate cultures

We have a defiant reggae community, roots reggae, clash and dub culture

It continues to push even with the many obstacles we all face

We are all still here

Sending nuff love out to all of I reggae soldiers inna Canada from nineteen how long, still playing records, still singing, still dancing, still playing that axe, kit for donkey’s years

We get a fight because we are reggae.  We are supposed to

Just keep working.  The reggae soldier has no choice
